What are Rudraksha beads? Well, It was said in the East, that after a 1000 years of meditation, Lord Shiva wept tears of compassion for humanity and His tears became the Rudraksha trees…the Rudraksha beads are known as “the teardrops of Shiva”. It is believed by many people that the Rudraksha bead can promotes enlightenment and liberation and has many other benefits when worn.
FYI-sometimes when Rudraksha beads are consecrated and blessed in the temples, they use a red powder (usually Kumkum) that is rubbed onto the beads…this may initially be transferred from the bead when worn but is harmless and to be expected.
