This wall hanging was lovingly handcrafted by Witch Joseph during the Samhain Season 2024. It is a perfect addition to a scared space, on the wall above an altar or shrine…especially when working with the Kemetic (Egyptian) pantheon…featuring the hieroglyph for Life, the Ankh in brass and sewed onto a piece of 100% black linen (Approximately 6inches by 5inches) with decorative brass bells and hanging with black ribbon from a rod inserted in the top. We have hung one above our family shrine to Goddess Bastet.
At Samhain we create a shrine for our Ancestors and Departed Loved Ones…this year, we are utilizing the Bastet shrine in our Dining room. Often, people don’t associate Bastet with the departed souls…but considering Her protective role in many myths of journeying with Her Father Ra/Re (God of the Sun and Lord of Light) in His night journey thru the underworld where She protects Him from the monsters of Chaos, She has come to represent the same for us…a protector of Souls as they journey in Spirit. Dua Bastet!
This Ankh will be perfect in other settings as well…other Deities and would be suitable for any time of year.
