Learning Lenormand

Learning Lenormand

Like most Witches I have always been fascinated by Divination and have studied and practiced various systems over the years…Mostly Astrology, Pendulum  and Tarot, but Ive also studied and practiced  Palmistry, I-Ching, Goddess Runes, Futhark Runes ect…Over the last year or so, I became interested in the Lenormand deck and system of cartomancy and I've begun learning how to read them…and it’s FASCINATING.  They were created by Mademoiselle Marie Lenormand in the 18th century in France…there are so many stories about her and what an interesting life she must have had.  They say she did readings for the Revolutionaries during the reign of terror where she predicted the deaths of Monsieur Marat and Monsieur Robespierre…she is said to have done readings for Napoleon…and so many others.  I’m doing daily cross layouts to familiarize myself with the 36 cards and their meanings in the context of the cross…Ive begun doing a 13 card reading as well, which is really an extension of the cross layout and a precursor to the grand tableau layout…which I’m excited to try once I’m more familiar with the deck and reading in the directional manner of the cards.  It’s so different from Tarot in so many ways…its exciting.  I’m glad we carry some of the decks here at Witch Joseph.  If any of you have any experience or suggestions with Lenormand please don’t hesitate to leave a comment and share with us.  Blessings Everyone.
